MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS /MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (SOFTWARE ENGINEERING)
GGSIPU (IPU) offers two-year, full-time MCA courses. Admissions are primarily based on NIMCET scores. If seats remain vacant after NIMCET counseling, IPU considers candidates based on merit in IPU CET/CUET-PG. The MCA program is available through 12 affiliated colleges, with some also offering the course in the evening shift.
MCA/MCA(SE) Admission Process :
Admissions to the MCA/MCA(SE) programs will follow this order of priority:
1. NIMCET : First preference will be given to candidates based on their NIMCET scores.
2. CET: If there are vacant seats after NIMCET counseling, admissions will be considered on the basis of CET merit.
3.CUET: Any remaining seats after CET admissions will be filled using the CUET merit list.
Note: Admitted applicants may need to complete additional bridge courses as per university norms.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MCA program at GGSIPU, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualifications:Must have passed BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (Information Technology), B.Voc. (Software Development), or an equivalent degree.
Alternatively, candidates with a three-year Bachelor’s Degree in fields like Mathematics, Business Statistics, Operations Research, or equivalent at the 10+2 level or graduation level are also eligible. Equivalence will be determined by a committee appointed by the Dean, USICT.
Minimum Marks:Candidates must have scored at least 50% in their qualifying examination.For reserved category candidates, a minimum of 45% marks is required.

Important Notes for MCA Eligibility
1.If your Board/University awards grades instead of marks, you’ll need to follow their
procedure to calculate equivalent marks. Be sure to provide the necessary conversion
document.
2.If your University does not have a scheme for converting CGPA into marks, you can
calculate the equivalent marks by dividing your obtained CGPA by the maximum possible
CGPA and then multiplying the result by 100.
